Thread Seal Tape

How to Use Thread Tape
- Clean the threads: Wipe dirt, oil, or debris off the male pipe end.
- Leave the first thread bare: Start wrapping from the second thread back to avoid blocking the pipe opening.Wrap clockwise:
- Face the end of the pipe and wrap in a clockwise direction (the same way you screw on the fitting) so it does not unravel when tightened.
- Keep it tight: Pull the tape taut so it molds tightly into the grooves of the threads.
- Apply 3 to 4 turns: Go around the pipe 3 to 4 times for standard tape, then pull to snap or tear it off.Smooth it down:
- Press the tape into the threads with your fingers before screwing the pieces together.
Description
Thread tape—also called PTFE tape, Teflon tape, or plumber’s tape—is a thin, lubricating plastic film used to seal pipe threads. It fills small gaps between male and female threaded joints, prevents leaks in pressurized lines, and acts as a lubricant so pipes screw together smoothly
